Chinese tech giant Huawei files a motion in US court challenging the constitutionality of a law that limits its sales of telecom equipment.

Huawei’s chief legal officer Song Liuping said at a press briefing that Huawei had filed a motion for summary judgment asking the court to rule on whether it is constitutional for the U.S. to implement a military spending provision that bars the government and its contractors from using Huawei equipment.

“This decision threatens to harm our customers in over 170 countries, including more than 3 billion customers who use Huawei products and services around the world,” Song said. The U.S. and China are embroiled in a protracted trade dispute and tariff war that began last July following complaints from President Donald Trump that China steals from or pressures foreign companies to hand over technology while unfairly subsidizing Chinese businesses. The most recent round of negotiations earlier this month ended with no agreement, after Trump more than doubled duties on $200 billion in Chinese imports.

How do they think they have constitutional rights when they are a company based in another country? So no thanks we'll wait and build our own 5G Network at least that way we'll know that it's our own government spying on us, not a foreign government...-.-

Let me quess what districts they filed in?

Says a company coming from a country where US Social Media is banned lmao xD

They likely got advise from Trump lawyer Rudy G.

Chinese firm asking USA to change their law to accommodate them? How do they even have standing to challenge our laws?

Do they have standing?

That's funny I didn't know foreign companies had Constitutional rights in the US

'TOO - MANY - SECRETS' Mr Zhengfei.

Says the one that banned all US social media .. LOL

Huawei IS the Chinese government. any person or corporation using their equipment have to have their sanity questioned.

Huawei You will win your legal suit. If by chance u dont. Have your legal teams appeal the ruling for resubmission of new data to submit to courts. Then seek me out. Youll win 100% on appeal.

So a Chinese company is going to try to use American courts to assert it's right to have access to our markets? Now, I've heard it all.

Isn't the U.S. constitution banned in China?

“Constitutionality”

Hahahaha
