How to Stop Failing Destiny 2’s Altars Of Sorrow Every Single Time

of failing the new Shadowkeep activity, Altars of Sorrow, pretty much every time I attempt it with randoms out in the world, and I think we need to establish a few things about basic strategy for this event so we can stop the frustration. I am not claiming to be some perfect master of the event, and yet at this point I know a good amount and I think people need a general crash course here.but it seems like it’s going to be a permanent addition to the game.

The nightmares will all appear at once and once again, will take ten seconds off your clock if they mosey on over to the central Altar. This is very bad because this timer is already short and taking 10-40 seconds off it through sacrifices is a surefire way to lose. For my money, your best exotic bet is Izanagi’s Burden, which takes about half a nightmare’s health on a 4x Honed Edge shot. Having someone with a Divinity is also obviously helpful. I think 21% Delirium is also a good pick here. Also Recluse, duh. Riskrunner is a good choice for mob clear because literally everything here is doing arc damage to you, though it’s not the best choice for the Nightmares themselves.

Despite all my advice about killing the boss, as of right now, you can fail the boss phase and still get drops of the unique Altar weapons for some reason. I am not sure if this is intentional or not, but check your inventory and postmaster.
