Two former financial regulators offer incremental steps to start regulating crypto markets immediately

Only someone who has been living under a rock could think cryptocurrency markets don’t need stronger regulation. The implosion of FTX, the collapse of the TerraUSD “stablecoin,” and the recent bankruptcy of crypto lenders and hedge funds—all causing massive losses to investors—provide ample evidence that digital assets should be regulated just like practically all other financial products and services.

This risk is partly the result of the widely divergent and often emotional responses crypto has triggered since it began. Charlie Munger has referred to crypto tokens as “partly fraud and partly delusion,” while many successful venture investors believe tomorrow’s financial infrastructure will be based on crypto technology. Each camp believes the government should act in furtherance of their view.

Let me guess- it involves the government paying them and/or the companies they represent to regulate it.

I like how to start it off with “Only someone who has been living under a rock could think cryptocurrency markets don’t need stronger regulation.” Starting off the article by setting you up at the unquestioned authority. And anyone who disagrees is stupid. Nice little tactic

Please let me know what regulations are going to stop a non-US exchange that didn’t accept US customers 🤡

That would mean .instagram skanks would have to get off their lazy asses and work instead of scamming for people for 'food stuffs' and tampons. Isn't that right, .instagram 'dears'?

Crypto currencies are terrible. It wastes capital better used for private investments improving lives, talents of smart people & massive electricity Gov shouldn’t give crypto credibility by regulation Fraud using crypto or theft of, shouldn’t be a crime That would kill crypto

Government contribution to Finance is a net negative.

Whole point for it is to not be regulated. Not sure how the us can back people's money tho

So, was the FTX collapse a CIA Op to kill crypto thru regulation? If SBF isn’t going to be prosecuted then you and the CIA can stand down. Everything must fine, right?
