How to keep your pets safe during July 4th fireworks, activities

– The Fourth of July is an exciting time for people to be outside enjoying friends, family, and fireworks.

But dogs may not enjoy the loud noises and people as much as their humans. Some of the loud bangs or activities may be life-threatening or overwhelming for dogs and cats.San Antonio Animal Care Services is reminding pet owners to plan ahead and take some precautions for Independence Day.. Woodlawn Lake will be the site of the official San Antonio Fourth of July celebration this year, complete with evening fireworks.

Double-check the contact information registered with the microchip now before the party gets started.Pets can overreact when they’re scared, and the dog who’d never left your yard before could easily dig a hole under the fence to escape the noise. Fear of fireworks and outside gatherings can also cause your pet to act out or become entangled.. The South Texas heat can kill.
