How The New Doctor Would Interact With Other Modern Doctors Revealed By Past Doctor Who Showrunner

Moffat, who earned acclaim for writing Doctor Who season 1, episodes 9 and 10, "The Empty Child" and "The Doctor Dances", was the showrunner from 2010 to 2017.

Moffat spoke with Screen Rant's Caitlin Tyrrell about Gatwa's Doctor and hinted at how a potential crossover episode would play out. If Gatwa's Doctor met with Peter Capaldi and Matt Smith, Moffat expects that Gatwa and Smith's characters would get along well. Capaldi's Doctor, however, would likely be a "grumpy school teacher", who would "play the guitar" with his counterparts and "start a boy band".

What would they think? The David and the Matt doctors always got on really well. They just liked each other. I think Capaldi would be grumpy about the other two not being proper doctors like him. I think Matt and Ncuti's doctors would just have a giggle together and run around and say, "This is cool. You change your clothes all the time. I'm going to do that now!" I think that would be funny. That would actually be quite a funny threesome.
