MakeIt I'm renting a house for a year and it may drag on to two as the renovations to my new house are taking forever. My landlord is struggling to keep up with the taxes, maintenance and mortgage. He needs help more than I do. I'm trying to figure out how to help him through this.

MakeIt Delay

MakeIt I did extra yard work and my landlord said Aug 1 that rent is going up $50 in Sept. To be fair, my rent has been the same for three years, but ☹️. Cost of living increases, but wages aren’t commiserate.

MakeIt Now your landlord needs to lower the assessed valuation of your apartment so he can still afford the property tax on it. Work with him. You'll want low taxes when you buy property, and they're currently fraudulently inflated.

MakeIt Most complaining about rent in social media, never called their landlord and asked for a temporary reduction to get by. Doesn't hurt to ask.

MakeIt I'll be the first to post. Tenants sign an agreement to pay X. Just because covid19 happens doesn't mean you go back on your agreement. No one forced you to sign a lease saying you would pay $x per month. Just the gov stopped evictions which screwed up income for landlords

MakeIt bring a gun?
