'Grey's Anatomy' will 'for sure' tackle the COVID-19 pandemic when it returns for season 17, according to showrunner Krista Vernoff.

That all changed this time around, as Vernoff described the experiences as feeling"more like therapy" sessions, with doctors"literally shaking and trying not to cry, they're pale, and they're talking about it as war -- a war that they were not trained for."

"I feel like our show has an opportunity and a responsibility to tell some of those stories," Vernoff added."Our conversations have been constantly about how do we keep alive humor and romance while we tell these really painful stories."Vernoff also hinted that Dr. Owen Hunt may play a pivotal role in this storyline as he, being an Army trauma surgeon, is"actually trained for this in a way that most of the other doctors aren't.

Production on"Grey's Anatomy" season 16 shut down in mid-March due to the novel coronavirus, resulting in the season ending early, while production on season 17 has yet to begin.

How do I get news and not TV commercials? Maybe I’m using twitter wrong.

How are there 16 seasons of this show? It’s a show about doctors...they’re afraid of apples for Christ’s sake.

First I said, great the first Covid story line. Then I said, how the hell has that show been on for 17 years? Then I said, oh my God I moved to Seattle 17 years ago!

Yes they will blame Republicans for the virus and slavery

That's just what we need. Don't we have enough of this crap in real life.

Greys anatomy is lite core porn. Is this what passes as political discourse these days?

Meridith gets Covid while saving a driving impaled by a car on the side of Mt. Rainer. The driver was overcome with symptoms and lost control. As she tries to pull him out he sneezes on her. That starts a 20 week mission of her struggling with the virus!

I applaud you for tackling this I really believe it will be surreal just like this pandemic has been for all of us
