Sounds like the CEO of Enron

For all behind a paywall and 'concerned' about Dick's Sporting Goods: sales dropped slightly, but profits increased due to space opening up for higher-margin items. All good. Suspect Mr. Stack wasn't surprised.

Dicks Sporting Goods is losing lots of business. Americans love sports, and the economy is improving, therefore this business collapse is caused by this Anti-Second Amendment action on the part of its CEO.

If you don’t care, then you have no business being a CEO and should be fired.

Wonder how Dick’s shareholders feel about his philosophy?

Style over substance. Firearms account for less than 5% of their sales. Keep selling those child slave labor produced Nike products though. Quite the humanitarian.

short the stock ?

Bad decision.

Did he say that at a stockholders meeting? if he did time to hire a new chairman!

Thank you for being a real American who cares about our children and wants the human race to move forward

Every stockholder needs to immediately sue him and the board for failing to fulfill their fiduciary responsibility. The chairman has just admitted to it.

Just wait- will ask again in a year- if you still have a job.

Whatever happened to, “the customer is always right.”?

This is why I will always buy from Dicks.

Love this.

A stand up guy! Well done Ed Stack!

Maybe Dick's changes chairman soon

Atta baby. Nice knowing ya

Good for Dicks Sptg Goods. They ought to stick to golf and fishing. Bows and arrows.

It’s a poorly run operation in the first place. Dickless Sporting Goods

1st of all, almost every board is in the back pocket of the CEO. 2nd, it is managerial male-practice to ignore the financial impacts of a decision. He and the board are not going to loose money. He is virtue signaling with other people's money.

Such courage and so right.

Idiot and I sure wouldn’t buy their stock

When your chairman says he doesn't care about the financial implications, it might be time for another chairman.

Ed, I hope you will consider taking football gear out of your stores. More people are injured, paralyzed, or brain injured while play that game then are injured or killed by a so called assault rifle.

Great American!

$4.10

Is that what they call values?

It’s a shame he’s trying to hard to be liked by people who don’t even shop at those stores

Winner

davidhogg111 FYI

I can't imagine shareholders are going to be very happy with his statement.

Bye Bye Ed!

Hope his employees are good with that decision if the have layoffs.

Recent police shootings upend NRA's 'good guy with a gun' theoryWhile the NRA asserts that a 'good guy with a gun' can stop a 'bad guy with a gun,' these incidents reveal that, in an active shooter situation, police are all too likely to identify any armed civilian as the shooter, Cedric L. Alexander writes. Opinion There are no good guys with guns. Only guys that know they have the power to kill because they have a gun. Opinion Breaking: NRA is mostly full of shit and rest is air. More Police Training Key To Determining Who Is A 'Good Guy With A Gun'Two black men killed by police recently in Alabama and Illinois are described by protesters as 'good guys with guns.' Police trainers say there are steps departments can take to help prevent deaths. It's terrible that this needs to be stated, but here we are. Did they just realize this? Cost/Benefit.
