“I was happy with how we turned the page,” coach Dana Holgorsen said this week as the Cougars moved on from a school-record 77-63 loss to SMU. “I think we’re going to go out and play good.”On the bright side, the Cougars had the best offensive showing in the Holgorsen era with 63 points and 710 yards. Despite three interceptions, Clayton Tune continued his hot stretch with 527 yards and seven touchdowns, both career highs.
Since recording four sacks Oct. 7 at Memphis, the Cougars have managed only five sacks in the past three games. The lack of pressure has also allowed opposing quarterbacks time in the pocket and limited the number of mistakes .
