Houston Texans select Ohio State TE Cade Stover in fourth round of NFL Draft

For the 2023 season, Stover was named the Big Ten's tight end of the year and was a finalist for the John Mackey Award.tight end Cade Stover was selected in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL Draft by the Houston Texans Saturday afternoon.The senior had a very solid 2023 campaign with 41 receptions for 576 yards and five touchdowns. He was voted the Kwalick-Clark Big Ten Tight End of the Year for his accomplishments.

Stover started his career at Ohio State in 2019 as a defensive end but moved to tight end the following year. He also played linebacker for the Rose Bowl in 2021 when Ohio State beat Utah 48-45. Scouting reports praise Stover for his smooth athleticism and secure hands as he did not drop a pass in 2023.
