Houston high school football top performers: Week 2

Brand made several big plays during the Spartans’ 31-28 victory over Oak Ridge on Friday. The senior receiver had 11 catches for 177 yards and three touchdowns, including the 60-yard go-ahead score in the fourth quarter.Jackson completed 32-of-51 passes for 418 yards and five touchdowns without an interception during the Cougars’ 56-54 victory over Tomball Memorial on Friday. He also rushed for 89 yards and two scores on 11 carries.

Malone was a menace during the Eagles’ 42-10 victory over Montgomery on Friday. The junior finished with nine tackles, two tackles for loss, five quarterback hurries and two batted passes.Brown delivered two big plays defensively during the Wildcats’ 17-7 victory over Clear Lake on Friday. The sophomore defensive back had two interceptions and returned one for a touchdown.
