The House Judiciary panel canceled a vote on extending key intelligence powers after a bipartisan coalition called for broader curbs on surveillance

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler had sought to end a phone-records program that targets suspected terrorists, but that sweeps in data, such as call dates and times, of Americans with whom they are in contact.
