House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy said President Trump bore responsibility for last week’s violence at the U.S. Capitol, but opposed efforts to impeach the president.
Mr. McCarthy seemed to chastise members of his own conference when Wednesday he said: “What we saw last week was not the American way. Neither is the continued rhetoric that Joe Biden is not the legitimate president.”

So GOPLeader, insurrection on American democracy is not an impeachable offense?
In other words he did it but we’re gonna give him a pass AGAIN says GOPLeader - if lying about a blow job is impeachable (and the lying part should have been and was) why isn’t this seditious call for a breach of your hallowed halls to stop certification election results?
The president has not said this. And that is the core of this issue. President trump refuses to take any responsibility for the lies about the election and his direct role in inciting a terrorist mob to riot. And he will never do so.
