Hong Kong's richest man, Li Ka-shing, urged people to 'love China, lov...

HONG KONG - Hong Kong’s richest man, Li Ka-shing, urged people to “love China, love Hong Kong and love yourself” on Friday in his first public comments on the escalating pro-democracy protests that have disrupted the city for weeks and challenged China.

Ten weeks of confrontations between police and protesters have plunged Hong Kong into its worst crisis since it reverted from British to Chinese rule in 1997, and have presented the biggest popular challenge to Chinese President Xi Jingping since he came to power in 2012. More than 700 people have been arrested since the protests began in June, and tear gas has frequently been used by police in attempts to disperse protests across the city.

However, a statement issued later by a spokesman quoted Li as saying “the road to Hell is often paved with good intentions. We need to be mindful of unintended consequences”.

Yeah right, top 10 richest people in HongKong hold the wealth equivalent to 30% of the city’s GDP and he is the number 1. It is people like him who drove the citizens desperate and an increasing number of youth into violent thugs who attack people in the streets.

The Chinese government know full well what they are scheming....! They can’t be trusted with Hong Kong.

Hong Kong protesters are fighting for their rights on the streets while these Tycoons sit in their offices counting their money.

李嘉诚, 别办伟大了, 全部的人都知道, 你是被强迫开口, 被共产党给强迫开口, 你跟成龙一样,如果闭嘴, 就会被共产党 把你消灭掉. 你跟成龙快点逃跑吧.

Li Jiacheng colluded with Ren Zhengfei. Ren Zhengfei wants Huawei to survive in the UK with the strength of Li Ka-shing. Both Li Ka-shing and Ren Zhengfei should die.

Love China does not know the meaning of the word!

Li Ka-shing He still fled to Canada.

What does this even mean? People who take the middle way play in favor of the government. The message should be clear and simple! NO to police brutality against the peaceful protesters who legitimately demand more freedom and less oppression!!!!

tycoons are about making money. In this case losing it. The protests are are about principles. Tycoons haven't got a clue about that

growing protest? lol

If I were him, I would too.

李嘉诚一家把“数码港”计划做成“房地产”计划谋取暴利,香港暴乱发生这么久才出来做两边的舔狗?好贱啊

Or, ‘Monopoly guy incarnate doesn’t understand why poor people he exploits aren’t as chill as he is.’

After sucking out the life blood and future of the city with his property oligarchy

Lol. Very constructive easy to implement solution. It’s like if you have a complicated problem like financial difficulties and a friend suggests ... “fix that with love!” ... errr yeah ... thanks.

Kaa...

Protestors that use violence to get point across have no idea about love

some people took the last word of every line and made a whole new meaning out of it 🤔🤔🤔

Mr Li is one to talk, he's been trying for years to buy up public housing, evict the tenants and resell the land at a huge premium. He's not the bastion of 'love' he thinks he is

wow taking the marwilliamson approach much?

Don't forget to 'love' all the Chinese military parked just over the border.

👎👎👎👎👎👎👎 无耻老贼一个😼

How about some love from Xi!

Oh and don't forget to love your 3 sqm flat , have a great day !
