Sheriff’s homicide detectives are investigating the suspicious death of a 21-year-old man whose body was found inside a Spring Valley apartment on Monday afternoon, official said.
Mario Munguia’s body was found with a possible gunshot wound to the upper torso shortly after 3:30 p.m., according to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department. Deputies were summoned to the apartment on Fairway Drive near Broadway, west of Mount Helix and just east of state Route 125, by an acquaintance of Munguia who reported an attempted suicide, said sheriff’s Lt. Chris Steffen.“Suicide is a possibility of what might have happened but we are still investigating,” Steffen said.
Anyone with information is asked to call homicide detectives at 285-6330 or after hours at 565-5200. Callers who wish to remain anonymous can call San Diego County Crime Stoppers at 580-8477.
