Sheriff’s homicide investigators are looking into the death of a man after his body was found floating in a pond in Lakeside early Monday.
Dispatchers received a call around 4:30 a.m. about a possible drowning at a pond off Willow Road and state Route 67, said sheriff’s Lt. David Collins. The caller said she saw the man’s personal belongings on the ground and that her friend might have drowned, Collins said. When deputies arrived, they found the body floating in the water.
Homicide detectives were sent to the scene. No other details about the identity of the victim or his death were immediately released.
