HOA forecloses on more than 50 Green Valley Ranch homesICYMI: Dozens of homeowners in Denver’s Green Valley Ranch neighborhood are facing foreclosure due to homeowners association-related fines and fees. It's the homeowners' responsibility to read ALL the papers they sign when they purchase a house. Also, the realtor should make sure their customer knows everything regarding their HOA agreement. So, this is a fair situation. They knew they had fines and ignored them. What’s more concerning is that they racked up 10,000 in FINES for being inconsiderate neighbors. Yeah it’s unfortunate, but if my neighbor violated common HOA laws like not mowing the grass enough to accumulate 10k in fines, I would be absolutely LIVID. I agree that people need to read HOA documents & be aware that a HOA can bring a foreclosure action. HOWEVER, foreclosure actions take a long time & require notices, right to cure, etc. None of this can be done behind a homeowner's back. There is more to this story.
