Surely the merger of Discovery-Warnermedia will make theatrical an even smaller cog in the wheel for the joint company with streaming front and centre of the new company as Zaslav has been talking about having over 400m global subscribers within a few years

As Dune opens internationally early in September was always likely to world premiere at Venice and as will play better internationally than US (as Blade Runner 2049) also makes sense that it will still be released on HBO Max same day as theatres on October 1
