Hocus Pocus 2 Gets September Release Date

Disney has announced that Hocus Pocus 2 will premiere this September. Released in 1993, Hocus Pocus remains one of the most popular Halloween films of all time. Starring Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy as the Sanderson sisters, Hocus Pocus follows teenager Max , his sister Dani , their neighbor Allison , and a talking cat named Binx as they attempt to defeat the witches before they consume the souls of the children of Salem, Massachusetts.

Last year, Disney reignited the Black Flame and finally put Hocus Pocus 2 into production. The sequel film will feature the returns of Midler, Parker, and Najimy as Winifred, Sarah, and Mary Sanderson. Directed by Anne Fletcher, Hocus Pocus 2 has kept major plot details under wraps. Throughout filming, several behind-the-scenes photos and sneak peeks have emerged online.

Hocus Pocus 2 will also feature the return of Doug Jones, who will reprise his role as Billy Butcherson. New additions to the cast include Whitney Peak , Lila Buckingham , and Belissa Escobedo , as three young women who encounter the Sanderson sisters. It remains to be seen if original cast members Katz and Shaw will make cameo appearances as Max and Allison all grown-up. Birch recently confirmed she will not reprise her role as Dani in Hocus Pocus 2.

Indeed, Hocus Pocus 2 enthusiasts won't have to wait much longer to see the Sanderson sisters back in action. The Hocus Pocus 2 September release date allots fans ample time to get a few viewings under their belts before October comes around. The continuous popularity of Hocus Pocus can be attributed to its stellar cast, comedic relief, and Halloween thrills. Ultimately, these factors are what have made Hocus Pocus 2 one of the most anticipated titles coming to Disney+ in 2022.
