Coach Prime is bringing NFL names to his staff

Shurmur — who was 5-11 and 4-12 with the Giants — was the first Giants’ head coach with more than 10 losses in his each of his first two seasons since Ray Perkins in 1979-’80., Ben McAdoo in 2016, when safety Landon Collins, and cornerbacks Eli Apple and Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie were suspended for conduct detrimental to the team.

Shurmur has not coached in college since the 1990s, when he was a top assistant at Michigan State under George Perles and Nick Saban, and at Stanford under Tyrone Willingham.
