HISD takeover has teachers 'stuck in limbo hell' as they face uncertain futures, unanswered questions

In the meantime, Latson, a teacher at Meyerland Performing and Visual Arts Middle School, and her peers throughout HISD, have questions: How will this affect curriculum? Will schools close? What major changes will this board make?

Latson has spent nearly three decades as an HISD teacher. She taught some of her students’ parents, and in another classroom one of her former students is now the one teaching the lesson plans. Despite her history with HISD, she has began to peruse other job postings.Texas political leaders, HISD community reacts to the TEA takeover of Texas' largest school district

That would probably help.

Since they can't teach children anything but drag dancing, let's hope they do quit.

AMurray2Serve Teachers are NOT trying to make sense of the state takeover of Houston’s public schools. A large percentage of teachers view this as an attack on black & brown communities - especially since HISD is rated by TEA as a B+ school district. It’s about race, power. & profit.

Fascist texas and HUGE government. Hypocrites.

Stay out of Katy

Leave the district… 😂… it couldn’t possibly get any worse

HISD has sucked for a long time. I mean right? No one wanted their kids in HISD if they had a choice.

Don't let the door hit your ass on the way out! 🤡🌍

Please leave - they’re the problem.

Thank you Dr. LiraSerg for speaking Truth! Tx Ed Agency is disrespecting the community. I was there and PROUD to witness the community reclaim their voice. This is just a preview of how TEA will attempt to disempower us. Not today. Not tonight. Not ever. HISD txlege txed I’m surprised they don’t have a fleet of trucks driving slowly around Town announcing the takeover on repeat! So parents are proud that their kids can’t read? That their kids are t safe? They support the failing schools? Obviously this is why they need to be taken over. Too many local people don’t care. It’s all about politics and virtue signaling.
