SXSW is back!!!

– It’s one of the most anticipated and encompassing music and film festivals in the world, and this year SXSW has resumed in person. The last time the festival was in-person was in 2019. The COVID-19 pandemic forced a virtual and smaller version for 2020 and 2021.

Inside Austin Convention Center are art and tech galleries and makeshift theatres where movies, films and documentaries debut. On Monday, TikTok Boom’s in-person premiere debuted. Ross Dinerstein is Campfire Studios Founder/CEO and producer of TikTok Boom. He said, “It’s just overwhelming, it’s so exciting to be back in my home state, being home, and in the theatre getting to see these films with people. The last couple of years has been really challenging and SXSW is such a special place. This is my tenth film to premiere here.”

TikTok Boom is feature length film that puts TikTok, which is the world’s most downloaded app, in the spotlight by discussing its origins, impact and controversy.“We had the benefit of interviewing, experts, journalists, cyber security people, gen Z influencers, you name it, we got to really cover all of it,” said Dinerstein. “I am very proud to be born and bred from Houston, Texas. Houston has such a diverse community, creative community, the arts district, museums.

Dinerstein said he’s excited to be back at SXSW and is now excited to be on his hometown station, KPRC 2.He said the film will be coming to a streaming platform soon.
