Here's what the federal voting proposals would do

In Texas, it's now a crime for election workers to send absentee ballot applications to voters who didn't request them. In Georgia, most voters who show up at the wrong polling places on Election Day will be turned away -- instead of permitted to cast provisional ballots.

And in Florida, a new law makes it harder for voters to continue receiving ballots by mail and limits the availability of drop boxes. Measures that Senate Democrats are slated to consider this week aim to counter these laws and a slew of others passed in Republican-controlled states in the last year.

Why not a national holiday?

These are nice, but not necessary. Focus on the maps, who counts the votes and appoints electors, and polling places based on population.

Why do people need a national holiday when many mail in their ballots or get weeks of early voting? Seems incoherent.

Dem pols & CNN like to “suppress” the FACT that voting laws in Blue states like DE (Biden’s home)/CT/NY are FAR more suppressive than the laws in GA/TX/FL. Rather than trying to corrupt voting in Red states, Dems need to modernize/expand voting opportunities in their own states!

Too bad none of it will pass. They won’t ever do anything to help the American people, they just want to keep their jobs so they can grift off of people.

There is too many opportunities for fraud with mail in voting without a strict one person, one vote fail safe verification method. Fraud would be too easy. I haven't heard one specific example of someone not being able to vote. It was record voting by both parties in 2020.
