Most of Monday's rain fell west of San Antonio.

The soggiest part of the region was actually west of San Antonio. Del Rio received between 2 and 3 inches of rain. Hondo saw several inches as well. “Basically the sloth that is having the worst drought received the least amount of rain,” said Mack Morris, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service. “To add insult to injury, the heavier rainfall fell out west.”24 years ago, flood brought death and devastation to the San Antonio area

Bexar County is 10 to 15 inches behind on the amount of rainfall it typically receives by this time of year. Extreme drought conditions gripping the region are expected to continue. But there is a small possibility that relief could be in sight, Morris said. Fall is typically a secondary, which favor warmer temperatures and drier weather, are forecast to continue through the fall and winter.Expect cool temperatures to remain in San Antonio and the Hill Country this week before highs return to the 80s on Friday. Some areas in the Hill Country may reach into the low 30s, but freezes are unlikely.
