This will be the first time the event will be staged on a football field in front of thousands of families, friends and fans. Three temporary pools – two 50-meter and one 25-meter – will be installed over the field in Lucas Oil Stadium.
The first time Indiana hosted Olympic swimming trials was nearly 100 years ago, in 1924 at Broad Ripple Park. In an interesting parallel, those athletes were also working to qualify for the Olympic Games in Paris. Visitors can expect downtown fanfare, which includes Toyota Aqua Zone fan fest in the convention center, and USA Swimming LIVE – which is a downtown fan activation. Indy Experience — These are the fan activations happening outside of the Stadium including USA Swimming LIVE, Toyota Aqua Zone, as well as some opportunities leading up to the Trials to help us get our city ready and spread awareness.
