Allen and Vollmer each shot 69-69 – 138 at the Region IV-5A tournament with Vollmer prevailing in a playoff. Allen was a 2023 Express-News Golfer of the Year finalist.
Alamo Heights wins third state girls golf crown in four years Girls Super Team Sayers Allen, Smithson Valley, jr.: Golfer of the Year finalist. Danielle Bailey, Reagan, sr.: Bailey shot 70-75 – 145 to tie for seventh at the UIL Class 6A state tournament. Dresden Bounds, Pieper, fr.: Carded 69-69 – 138 to finish second at the UIL Class 5A state tournament. Lydia Portlock, Reagan, jr.: Scored 72-72 – 144 to tie for fifth at the UIL Class 6A state tournament. She was a 2023 Super Team member.
Smithson Valley wins Class 5A boys state golf championship Boys Super Team Caleb Friesenhahn, Schertz John Paul II, sr.: Friesenhahn shot 69-67 for a two-round 136 to finish six behind TAPPS Class 4A state champion Jace Hulett. Ryan Griff, Smithson Valley, sr.: Golfer of the Year finalist. Phoenix Guerra, Boerne Champion, jr..: Guerra shot 69-74 for a two-round 143 to finish seventh in UIL Class 5A state. He is a two-time Super Team member.
