If landlords don’t apply, they can still receive funding if their tenants applied and qualified for funding during the earlier application window. Landlords will have to complete some paperwork with the city, including providing ID, a completed W-9 tax form, proof of the tenant’s current and past-due rent, as well as proof that they own the rental property in question.
The states are seeking to stop Meta from using features they allege are designed to get young people addicted to the apps as well as stop marketing Instagram and Facebook to children and youth. Each state is seeking separate damages. Bonta said their investigation found that Meta has misled its users and is putting children in harm’s way. He cited growing evidence that social media has a negatively affects children, including with depression, anxiety and body image issues.
“I am incredibly impressed that the attorney generals from I think it's like 41 or 42 states have now come together across both the larger lawsuit with the 33 states and the eight individual complaints to say, 'Hey, enough is enough,'” she said. “We know that you hid this information from the public, that you misconstrued that these products were safe for kids when they weren't.”
Representatives handling labor talks for the hotels did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Hotel workers have been conducting rolling strikes since July. They're demanding a $5 an hour raise with pay bumps totaling $11 an hour over three years. Other asks include affordable health care, manageable staffing workloads, and a hospitality workforce housing fund. Only the Westin Bonaventure and the Biltmore Los Angeles in downtown have reached tentative agreements with the union.
Despite the stall, Cal State has doubled its four-year graduation rates from 19%, when the 2025 graduation initiative was created in 2015. And since 2016, the CSU has contributed to an additional 150,000 bachelor’s degrees earned.
