Harassment and violence have become common outside abortion clinics over the decades since the 1973 ruling legalizing abortion.

Amanda Kifferly, Vice President for Abortion Access at The Women's Centers poses for a photograph in Cherry Hill, N.J., Wednesday, June 15, 2022.

“We know from experience, it’s not like the people protesting clinics in banned states just pack up and go home," said Melissa Fowler, chief program officer for the National Abortion Federation. But the relationship between clinics and local police isn't always a positive one, and clinics must weigh whether having a heavy police presence will frighten patients, Fowler said. In Kifferly's experience, how well clinics and police departments work together varies by city and state. She recalled asking an officer for help as she was assaulted outside the Philadelphia clinic, and the officer responding that she should “call 911.

Louisiana governor signs bill criminalizing abortion providers if Roe overturnedLouisiana Gov. Edwards signs bill that would make doctors who perform abortions subject to prison terms of one to 10 years — a measure that would take effect when and if Roe v. Wade is overturned. Sorry to non Republicans in the South, but it’s best to have them secede. I f that’s the case, then I think that anyone who kills the pregnant mother should be charged with 2 murders , and anyone who assaults a pregnant mother should be charged with 2counts of assault.

Supreme Court abortion decision: When will SCOTUS release ruling? The U.S. Supreme Court will go into a summer recess on June 26, and most observers expect a decision before then on a case that could overturn 50 years of abortion law. Of course they will. Democratic states should start a lucrative program fund to assist women with good cause of getting an abortion if this actually happens...and be amazed by the contributions. America has laws against religious prosecution. Overturning Roe based on religious beliefs is unconstitutional. This should be a medical decision between women and their doctors. Pro-lifers are going against the definition of prolife which is to protect all of the weak.
