Residents in Heber Valley are concerned with the increased traffic causing more crashes in the area after a semi truck driver lost his life in a crash at Deer Creek Reservoir.

“Likely it will because with the intersection here, people will be restricted to slow down and stop in the intersection,” Woolley said.“I think there needs to be more law enforcement present and that they be able to conduct law enforcement in a safe environment for them as well," she said. “I also want to say I respect the fact that there is not a lot of places to pull people over down that canyon, and I wouldn’t want to see Highway Patrol’s lives be in jeopardy,” she said.“When we can, we usually have a trooper down there every day to patrol it,” Matthews said. “Just kind of depends how busy we are.”
