Based on Utah's gun laws, brandished is definitely a unique word to use. On somebody's hip, it's completely fine. A drawn weapon is a completely different issue. Let's see if this is just a Californian freaking out because they don't understand the freedoms of Utah.

It would say gun, if it was a gun. It was probably a knife or a fight that turned into objects being used. If it was a gun it would be national news right now. Also probably say 'Shots fired at Lagoon. Awaiting for details.'
If there was a gun everybody would definitely know it. But what really happened is person thought everyone is out to get them or probably was treated rude. Or they didn’t like there response to them. Or they received there 15$ fries cold.
