The NYPD and the United States Park Police immediately began an investigation into the gruesome find. According to NYPD Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny, cameras spotted a man walking onto the Cross Bay Bridge. The office of the Chief Medical Examiner has deemed the incident to be a suicide. Additionally, police say they discovered a green rope tied to the bridge’s railing.
