Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT There is an abundance of fantastic Masters of the Universe characters that need to finally make the jump to live action. One of the greatest and most enticing things about the original 1982 toyline was the varied selection of unique and original characters, on both the hero's and the villain's sides.
In Masters of the Universe: Revelation, Moss Man was unceremoniously destroyed in the show's opening scene, making an appearance in the new live-action movie even more intriguing. Alan Oppenheimer voiced him in the Netflix series, the same actor who played Skeletor in the original '80s cartoon. In a bit of irony, Moss Man was killed off by Skeletor , in a moment that felt like the passing of the voice-acting torch.
8 Mer-Man The King Of The Seas Close Although Mer-Man was an early minion of Skeletor's, and seen as his #3 behind Beast Man, the character has grown substantially over the decades. Mer-Man still provides some servitude to Skeletor, but mostly of his own volition, and he's essentially been dubbed "King of the Seas," much like Marvel's Namor or DC Comics' Aquaman.
6 Trap Jaw The Interdimensional Cyborg Close Trap Jaw is another of Skeletor's more powerful allies. He's a sharp-toothed cyborg who can travel between dimensions and switch his right arm out with a variety of deadly weapons, including laser guns, freeze rays, grappling hooks, and rocket launchers. Originally, Trap Jaw came to Eternia in hopes of taking over the universe for himself, and it took He-Man and Skeletor joining forces to stop his takeover.
Throughout the comics and cartoons, Faker has been used by Skeletor to imitate both Prince Adam and He-Man, trick his allies and friends, and even betray the king of Eternia. Introducing Faker in a live-action film could present the infiltration story in order to cause conflict between the heroes. The special effects, especially when Faker's external He-Man disguise starts to disintegrate, could be epic and look amazing on screen.
Using Hordak as the main or secondary antagonist in a live-action Masters of the Universe film could raise the stakes by offering an even more evil villain than Skeletor. It could also be used as a gateway at the end of the film to introduce She-Ra, who is one of the most popular characters in the franchise. Hordak has been a villainous fixture in almost every single TV series, including the She-Ra shows, so his presence is a must in the live-action He-Man world.
