HBO cancels sci-fi drama 'Westworld' after four seasons | Engadget

It was not up to the HBO standards. Only the season 1 was.

I did think that the overall story could and should have been wrapped up with S2. S3 at best to fully conclude things. I hate to see the show cancelled, but perhaps it was time instead of trying to force storylines forward.

About time! Season 3 was a major do not make any more.

I think the first season was the absolute masterclass on how to make a great TV series: Great production, amazing performance (from some of the best actors in the world), absolutely insane plot twist, and a lot of morals to learn from.

Just a reminder again: they don’t set up advertiser spots (at least yet) so there is no need to cancel based on viewership with this model. This should be the accumulation period for these companies, but they cling to old ideas…
