HAYWARD — Alameda County coroner’s officials identified two victims Thursday in three separate traffic collisions under active investigation since the year’s beginning, and police are urging caution and care for drivers and pedestrians.
The pedestrian, who was pronounced dead at the scene, was identified as Lydia Aronce, 66, of Hayward. The driver, who police did not identify, remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Both vehicles’ drivers, 28- and 26-year-old men, were taken to hospitals for treatment of major injuries.
