'We do know that it is not a good time to travel to the islands,' Hawaii Gov. Ige said while asking tourists not to visit because hospitals and ICUs are filling up with Covid-19 patients.

Ige told reporters that he understands his plea could potentially hurt small businesses that have already been struggling."Certainly our call to reduce travel to the islands for only essential business will have an impact on the numbers who come here.

Ige also said that because restaurant capacity has been reduced to 50 percent and access to rental vehicles is limited, he thinks visitors"will not have the typical kind of holiday that they expect to get when they visit Hawaii."
