New Cumberland Police charge a Harrisburg woman in borough fire.New Cumberland Police have charged a Harrisburg woman with multiple counts of arson, among other crimes, in connection to an early Thursday morning fire that imperiled several residents in an apartment building.
Police charged and arrested Valerie Mesaros shortly after the fire. She awaits arraignment with multiple counts of arson and other related crimes as a result of the 7:20 a.m. four-unit apartment building fire at 813 Bridge Street in the borough. Emergency fire crew had to rescue two residents who were trapped on a second story balcony. One person was taken to hospital with minor injuries and nine people were displaced from their homes. Several residents were asleep in the building at the time of the fire, police said. No one died as a result of the fire, police said.
