Harrisburg police took the bag and kept the man for questioning.

Harrisburg’s public safety building was evacuated Tuesday morning after a man walked in with a bag of explosives he claimed to have found on Cameron Street, authorities said.

City spokesman Matt Maisel said Harrisburg police took the bag and detained the man for questioning. As a precaution, the public safety building’s three floors were evacuated. Police also shut down the 100 block of Walnut and River streets between Walnut and Strawberry. The Harrisburg police’s K9 team responded to the scene, as well as the Pennsylvania State Police bomb squad.
