Sales Tax goes towards teachers - Base Pay plus town supplement!
It would make to much sense to cut the tax rate. Not just on groceries but across the board. 7% is ridiculous
Mississippi is in a tough spot. They get more back from the Federal Government then they pay in. Thanks to states like California that basically subsidies Mississippi. Time to make tough decisions and live within means.
These are just a few of our problems. In addition to our human capital (young people) leaving MS to find employment & sustainable careers. Mississippi leaders y’all gotta do better than this
How about assistance to middle class working family’s- being that the middle class supports both the rich & the poor! The burden is really heavy. Mississippi leaders aren’t helping our state move up. What about education? Need more funding. Teachers pay?
How long have we been paying tax on groceries? Tax is applied to every thing. How about this - raise WAGES to match the cost of living. People are living check to check. Hit these small towns that are refusing to let commerce into the community.
