A former reporter for WFAA-TV is taking the top communications job at Grapevine-Colleyville ISD.

The district’s board of trustees recently approved the hiring of Craig Civale as the new chief communications officer, according to a news release. Civale previously served as a senior manager of digital channels and content strategy at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport, the release said. In 2012, he left his job as a reporter at WFAA-TV to work at Baylor Scott and White Health in Dallas, where he managed media relations for six years.“Craig Civale has a proven track record of success in communication and engagement,” Superintendent Robin Ryan said in the release.

Over the past year, the district has been in the national spotlight because of controversies surrounding critical race theory and theCivale, a Grapevine resident, said in the release he is excited about his new role. “I moved to Grapevine 15 years ago because it offered my children the best opportunity to learn and grow,” he said. “I’m excited to now be part of the team working to communicate the amazing things happening here in the district.”

Meet Star Trek: Strange New Worlds' Uhura, aka NewhuraThe Enterprise's future communications officer gets the spotlight in this new video. All the new ST iterations currently on Paramount or mediocre at best. Overly reliant on visual efx and mediocre regurgitated storytelling of yore. Also not too fond of the obvious LGBTQ/BLM in your face trope. Have to fast forward past all that static to enjoy the story.
