SAN ANTONIO — A brand new multi-million dollar aquatics center that is named for a fallen soldier will celebrate their grand opening at JBSA-Lackland on Tuesday., a pararescueman who died while serving in Afghanistan. Maltz was from New York and was killed during a rescue mission in 2003.
The $60 million dollar facility will consists of two olympic-sized swimming pools deep enough to meet the training needs for the U.S. Air Force. According to military officials, it will meet the training needs for those who make up the Air Force’s offensive ground force.
