Grand jury to present report on Breonna Taylor shooting to judge: Here's what we know

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A Kentucky grand jury will present its report on the Breonna Taylor case to Jefferson Circuit Judge Annie O’Connell at 1:15 p.m.the decision in the fatal shooting of 26-year-old Breonna Taylor by Louisville policeAttorney General Daniel Cameron's office did not immediately respond to a request for comment about the time or location of the announcement. Elizabeth Kuhn, a spokeswoman for Cameron, said she"can't share any further details at this time.

A daycare center near the museum in Frankfort, the state's capital, was preparing to close early after receiving word that the decision would be made nearby. And in Louisville, Mayor Greg Fischer and the city's police departmenton Tuesday to free up resources in anticipation of a decision and potential protests downtown.

A grand jury is expected to hear — if it hasn't already — the case of the three officers who fired shots at Taylor's apartment March 13, striking her five times and killing her. The 12 grand jurors also could consider a charge of wanton endangerment, deciding that one or more of the officers knowingly acted in a way that created a “substantial danger of death or serious physical injury to another.”
