It's Beyoncé vs. Adele in the major categories including album, record and song of the year

Beyoncé leads this year's pack of Grammy nominees with nine chances at gold, ahead of rapper Kendrick Lamar coming in at eight, and balladeers Adele and Brandi Carlile scoring seven each. Major music stars including Beyoncé and Bad Bunny could set new milestones at Sunday’s ceremony, while wins by Adele in coveted categories would put her in elite company.

A red carpet show featuring the arrivals of nominees, performers and other stars begins at 5 p.m. on E! Network.The third time’s the charm for comedian Trevor Noah, who will host the Grammys for a third consecutive year. Adele, a 15-time Grammy winner, swept those categories in 2012 and 2017 on the strength of her previous two albums. Her latest, “30,” is nominated this year for album of year, while “Easy on Me” is up for song and record.
