Graham Pauley is enjoying the Pacific Coast League, at least as much as he can. The Padres’ 23-year-old prospect homered for the fourth time in nine games since his demotion to Triple-A El Paso as the Chihuahuas beat visiting Albuquerque 9-3 on Friday night. The blast was a two-run shot in the first inning. Pauley also was hit by a pitch, walked and scored three runs while serving as the designated hitter. Through nine games with El Paso, Pauley is hitting .290/.436/.677 with 11 RBIs.
Missions 7, Corpus Christi 2: LHP Robby Snelling struck out five and allowed a run in 4⅔ innings in the start, just missing qualifying for the win. He walked three and allowed two hits while throwing 50 of his 78 pitches for strikes. LHP Jason Blanchard struck out the side in the ninth and LHP Omar Cruz threw two perfect innings. RF Robert Perez Jr. hit his first homer and drove in two runs. CF Jakob Marsee went 1-for-4 with a walk, an RBI and two steals, giving him seven on the season.
TinCaps 5, Dayton 3: RF Kai Murphy went 4-for-4 with two doubles and three RBIs. LF Albert Fabian went 2-for-3 with a walk and a run scored. DH Ethan Salas went 1-for-5 with an RBI. RHP Tyler Morgan earned the win with five strikeouts over four shutout innings in relief to close the game. LOW SINGLE-A LAKE ELSINORE Storm 4, Visalia 3: SS Wyatt Hoffman went 1-for-3 with a double, an RBI and a walk. RF Nick Vogt went 1-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored.
