Grading the Week: Deion Sanders could be CU Buffs’ next Mel Tucker — and that’s fine by MattDSchubert

As hard as that is to picture — it’s bizarre just typing it — the Grading the Week staff is fully prepared to do whatever it takes to make it happen, outside of maybe a Rumpelstiltskin situation. Coach Prime and Ralphie running onto the field is the foot race we need to see.

At some point, Prime will have to win games in Boulder, or else it will just turn into the college football version of the Broncos’ Russell Wilson trade. Lots of hype, followed by tons of tears. And probably a cringe-worthy catchphrase to mock.Regardless of what some might think, you don’t just fall into the 26-5 record Coach Prime has compiled at Jackson State — even playing a SWAC schedule.

That’s fine by us — so long as he lasts more than one season. You can’t go full Midnight Mel, Prime. Just half.
