The “first step,” Tierney added, would be to lift the court’s stay on the heartbeat bill. “For 40 years, I have voted on abortion initiatives,” he said. “I believe we have an obligation to protect the most vulnerable members of our society. And that is what I’ve told people, that’s what I’ve done, I will continue to do that.”
