Abbott’s new “plan” for Texas schools…unannounced intruders! This is an accident waiting to happen. Yes, let’s scare staff and kids and possibly get a school employee an assault charge trying to protect kids. Are you crazy GregAbbott_TX ?

He must have forgotten gun control!

anxious_maria Eliminate standardized testing. The School Counselor in Texas spends a majority of their time being stewards of these exams and not students. And… BanAssaultWeaponsNow

lindsaywise This is a deeply cynical and equally evil response from Abbott, a wholly owned subsidiary of the gun lobby. This is Texas Style Kabuki Theater - Big and utterly meaningless ItsTheGunsStupid

lindsaywise Good thing he’s calling for gun laws before there’s a child-massacre. No. This was preventable. This was gop.

Like 'sending thoughts and prayers,' 'study and recommend' are meaningless words meant to hide inaction while those in power wait for us to forget.

While excluding any new gun laws. This is stalling for time, hoping this massacre, too, will be forgotten as soon as another one happens — which he’s hoping will be in another state. It’s all performative bullshit. As long as he accepts NRABloodMoney, he’s compliant & complicit.

And the band plays on. If you want to change these guys aren't going to do it until you vote them out. It's that ample but if you want to keep your guns and not your kids then b all means keep them in.

Why doesn’t he listen to all of the people in this state and address the issue of too baby guns!? Skip the legislative committee for GOD’S sake! Open your damn eyes!

Recommendation: impeach Abbott, Dan Patrick, and Ken Paxton for failing Texas.

The special committees are different from a special legislative session, which Texas Democrats — and at least a couple Republicans — have asked for after the shooting. Gov. Greg Abbott has not ruled that out.

Uvalde shooting: Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick backpedals comment, says police inaction 'may have' cost livesAs officers arrived on scene, children in the Uvalde classroom were making terrified calls to 911. The incident commander deemed the situation was no longer an active shooter, but a barricaded suspect. 'It was the wrong decision, period,' officials said. This tragedy is NOT because of guns; it is because of Liberal-Progressivists who NORMALIZE rather than TREAT mental illness. We should start to honor those children who’ve served in school war zones, on this Memorial Day. They’re a veterans, unwillingly. Just like abbott Patrick needs to go he is just as much a a.z.z.w.I.p.e. as abbott birds of a feather flock togather and to think I use to watch him on Houston local station chan 11 sportscaster now I know why I didn't like that joker
