Not only is Batman shown wearing a mechanized suit to battle against a new version of Chemo and an unknown villain, but Robin's new suit is similarly mechanized as well. The Gotham landscape is also notably cyberpunk in design, and things go even further when Batman is shown using a giant mech to battle against a giant robotic Talon from the Court of Owls.

A lot of Batman's villains are based on the familiar "mad scientist" trope, including characters like Mr. Freeze, who is a skilled inventor and scientist, or factions like the Court of Owls, who have infinite wealth and resources and would be able to design something like a giant mech. Gotham will always be a dark and dirty place infested with crime, but as time marches on, that crime will change.
