Google to erase more location info as abortion bans expand

The company behind the internet’s dominant internet search engine and the Android software that powers most of the world’s smartphones outlined theBesides automatically deleting visits to abortion clinics, Google also cited counseling centers, fertility centers, addiction treatment facilities, weight loss clinics, and cosmetic surgery clinics as other destinations that will be erased from users’ location histories.

“We’re committed to delivering robust privacy protections for people who use our products, and we will continue to look for new ways to strengthen and improve these protections,” Jen Fitzpatrick, a Google senior vice president, wrote in the blog post.

I'm sure Google has lawyers on this, but god damn is that a grey-area. I'm also pretty sure Google thinks they're dealing with the old GOP Republicans, because these new Republicans aren't messing around. Republican mayors/governors will come after them for this.

Idea for Google: stop storing all location data. Users could opt to have tracking stored on their phone. Why should Google (et al) store this on their servers?

By default, Google should NOT store the location of users beyond a particular session! Location parameter should be automatically deleted when one closes a website or web app.

So the tracking was not accurate enough for the 2020 election fraud stuffing of ballot boxes '2000 Mules' but it is accurate for tracking of people going to abortion clinics. How sad legacy media has become.
