But the new interface brings much more than simple cosmetic changes — you can now perform selected tasks on your photos all in one go, without having to open each one individually. In addition to sharing selected media in any of the usual ways, you can perform a variety of functions including, adding them to an existing album, downloading them to your local device or even editing the date and time or location.
If you need to alter the saved time and date on a group of photos, you can choose to apply the same time and date to all selected photos at once or you can have Google Photos set a new date for the first image and then automatically maintain the existing time differences between the other selected images.
The new interface seems to be appearing gradually on a user-by-user basis, probably as part of a test. For example, my Android devices still have the old interface while I have the new one on iOS. Other users, however, are already seeing the new interface on Android. The new sharing menu seems like a big improvement to me, so I’m looking forward to receiving it on my Android devices in the very near future.
