In his new role, Sundar Pichai will be given a salary of $2 million, up from $650,000 in 2018. He'll also be given two tranches of performance-based stock units worth $45M and an additional $120M in restricted stock units, according to an SEC filing.

San Francisco Google CEO Sundar Pichai is going to make a lot more money in his new expanded role as CEO of Alphabet.

Earlier this month, Google co-founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin announced they would be stepping down as Alphabet executives and that Pichai would become chief executive of Google's parent company. Pichai will stay on as CEO of Google, a position he's held since October 2015. In his new role, he'll be given a salary of $2 million, up from $650,000 in 2018.

Comment section full of cry babies. Guy works his a** off to become CEO of one of the richest companies in the world and gets compensated for the responsibility of directing and maintaining thousands of jobs. Don't like it? Start your own company and run it however you want.

I read the first sentence and thought $2M is not that high for his position. Then came the options clarification. Eye roll.

Complaining about the rich seems pretty weak to me. I just work hard, make more money next year and let the rich be rich.

FFS! Disgusting!! CEOs are the most overpaid in America!! Pay your employees higher wages and better benefits.
